Qualified participants in the TEX-AN NextGen contract with tw telecom include:

Texas State Agencies: Texas Government Code, Section 2054.003 (13)

Units of Local Government: Texas Government Code, Section 2054.003 (9), including:

  • Cities
  • Counties
  • Public School Districts
  • Municipalities
  • Special Purpose Districts

Education, and Institutions of Higher Learning: Texas Education Code, Section 61.003 

  • E-Rate Program: Affordable access to advanced telecommunications services – no matter where they’re located – is important for everyone. If you are a school or library, you may be eligible for reimbursement for your Internet Access and other network solutions (excluding equipment) at a discount. E-Rate is an FCC program that provides funding for telecommunications reimbursement for K-12 schools. It is designed to ensure that schools and libraries have affordable access to modern telecommunications and information services. Up to $2.25 billion annually is available to provide eligible schools and libraries with reimbursements, so be sure to investigate your options with your tw telecom representative. Assistance Organizations: Texas Government Code, 2175.001 

Additional Eligible Participants: Private institutions of higher education that engage in distance learning and receive federal funds for distance learning initiatives are also eligible to purchase from this contract. If you are a private institution of higher education, you’ll need to apply to DIR for an Eligibility determination. DIR utilizes the eligibility for Assistance Organizations as determined by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts or the Texas Facility Commission to determine applicability to this contract.
