Rooted in the rich heritage of communications giants, tw telecom was founded in 1993 as a joint venture between US WEST (a Regional Bell Operating Company) and Time Warner. tw telecom rapidly evolved its business, specializing in facilities-based communications solutions for Enterprise and Carrier customers as well as local and Federal Government Agencies.
In 1998, tw telecom—then known as Time Warner Communications—was formed into its own entity, and in May 1999, issued an initial public offering (IPO). The
tw telecom management team built a foundation to support its customers for the long-haul. In 2008, tw telecom officially became the new name of the company.
Today, tw telecom serves markets nationwide over its own facilities, with more than 27,000 route miles of fiber and over 16,000 "on-net" commercial buildings connected. It has two National Operations Centers (NOCs) in Littleton, CO and O’Fallon, MO, where its solutions are monitored for quality 24/7/365 to assure the best and most reliable service. tw telecom delivers its premier telecommunications solutions from 75 sales and service offices throughout the country.
Committed to its customers—then as now—tw telecom focused on delivering high-quality, secure, and reliable telecommunications solutions. Changing the way people connect and communicate—seamlessly, reliably, and securely—has always been at the heart of what we do, then, now, today, and tomorrow.
